| Software Product Manager
Our client provides technology to the digital printing and pre-press industry (both high-end and middle market). Success here demands a reputation for robust, extensible and high-performance software. By achieving this company has secured a large share of its marketplace.
They are seeking a dynamic product manager who is capable of managing technically complex software products from strategy definition through to delivery and maintenance, working closely with customers, the marketing team, sales teams, software development and project management. The position reports to the Director of Research and Development.
Principal responsibilities
Working with product marketing and other product managers and functional groups within the company to further define product marketing strategies and requirements for enhancement and changes to the current and new products
Liaison between marketing, sales, development, testing and delivery teams to ensure all external and internal commitments and expectations against the product are met
Define the product level strategy and road maps based on sales & marketing, technical and customer support requirements, and high-level company strategy
Communicate and report the products delivery plans, content and marketing strategy to all stakeholders
Ensure product initiation, development and delivery processes are followed, and take a leading role in the mentioned process improvement and problem solving activities
Work with product marketing in the production of marketing collaterals and customer communications
Responsible for internal communications as it relates to product direction and strategy
Visit with customers, when necessary, for validation of customer issues and direction
Requires international travel
Essential skills and experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in software product management gained in the digital printing market
Knowledge of the digital printing market and key players in this market segment
Strong communication and presentation skills
Experience with Raster Image Processing products (RIPs) and associated technologies is highly desirable
Desirable skills
An understanding of printing technologies, including areas such as laser printers, printer controllers, screening, colour management, fonts, and trapping
Knowledge or exposure to a project management methodologies
Knowledge/exposure to all aspects of software development life-cycle and processes
