| Our expanding client is seeking a full time Software Developer to join their Support Group. This individual will be contributing in at least two key areas. First, as the range of products and technologies offered by the client grows, they have a need for an individual to help their customers implement these technologies. Second, the complexity and nature of some of the trouble shooting required today demands an individual with developer level skills. Our OEMs utilize and customize our products to support a wide variety of output devices including computer to plate systems (CtP), digital printing, black and white and colour proofing as well as electronic document creation and delivery. The candidate will work within the Support Group as well as with customers and other groups within this organisation. This is a challenging and diverse role, a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual. Principal responsibilities involve; answer questions related to operation, configuration, and possible problems, analyse and troubleshoot problems, troubleshoot, test and verify reported problems and devise workarounds if possible. Occasionally the ideal candidate will provide training to OEMs.
Essential skills and experience; a degree in computer science or equivalent experience, 0-2 years C/C++ development on Windows and at least one of: Macintosh OSX, UNIX or Linux, Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable skills are; Knowledge of the PostScript language and PDF file format, Experience with colour management systems, Understanding of digital colour and screening issues, CORBA experience, Borland Delphi experience, C# experience, Visual Basic experience, Microsoft .net experience, COM experience. Experienced using any or all of the following compilers: VC++, Watcom C++, VS.Net.
